Windows ME and Me
By Thiravudh Khoman

Update Notes: 23-Jan-2001

A few more Thai problems with my TWIN95'ed Windows ME:

  • When typing a "sara um", I invariably have to type the little raised circle and the "sara ah" separately. In Thai-localized Windows, of course, this is done in one keystroke. While a hassle, I type Thai very sparingly, so it doesn't bother me much.
  • One set of apps that so far refuses to do Thai are the multi-user online games at http://www.catcha.co.th (e.g. Reversi, Hearts, etc.). While the HTML pages display Thai correctly, the separately launched game apps don't show Thai nor do they allow Thai to be entered with my patched Win ME. What this means is that I can't chat in Thai with other players (and vice versa), although this doesn't stop others from trying to converse with me in Thai (which I can't read).
