The Joys of Dynamic DNS By Thiravudh Khoman Update Notes: 23-Feb-2000 In light of my recent work with WinRoute Pro, there's another way to connect with a LAN-based server that's using a non-routable IP address; that is, to use "port mapping". I haven't actually tried this yet though. Update Notes: 17-Feb-2000 I received an email today from Tom Prime who put in a good word for Mercury/32, a free email server program. This is a Win32 port of the Mercury/NLM mail server which has been running on Netware servers for many years now. Mercury was authored by New Zealander David Harris who is well known for his freeware email client Pegasus. Both Pegasus and Mercury are available for download from http://www.pmail.gen.nz, plus many other mirror sites. |
