Dual Windows Installations By Thiravudh Khoman Update Notes: 26-Jan-2000 I received an email from Sam Bass soon after this article was published, informing me that a FAT32 driver for Windows NT does indeed exist. Created by Winternal Software (http://www.winternals.com), FAT32 for NT 4.0 costs US$39, and although it does work, it's a bit slow according to Sam. Incidentally, Windows 2000, the follow-on to NT 4.0, is supposed to support FAT32 natively. Winternals has a range of very interesting NT-related products. NTFS Pro allows you to boot from a DOS diskette and read from/write to NTFS partitions (including NT Server, bypassing security!) Three guesses why networking experts recommend that servers be kept in a locked room!. Meanwhile, NTFS for Win 98 is a driver for Windows 95/98 which allows them to read/write NTFS partitions. |
